Altus Partners is delighted to be partnering with a leading private equity firm with a long-standing track record in fund investing, secondaries, and co-investments across the European small-cap market. With a long track record of success and multiple billions under management, this firm has established itself as a premier investor, providing capital and strategic support to high-potential funds and businesses.

The firm is seeking an Investment Director to play a pivotal role in its Fund Investment platform in Berlin, bridging the gap between Managers and Partners. This role provides a unique opportunity for career progression, with a clear pathway to Partner level within three years.

THE ROLE:

The role includes but is by no means limited to the following:

Investment Strategy & Execution

  • Lead fund investing, secondaries, and co-investment opportunities across the small-cap European market.

  • Build and enhance relationships with emerging managers, supporting early-stage fund investments.

  • Develop and implement structured investment processes to enhance efficiency within the team.

Portfolio & Fund Management

  • Manage capital deployment across the firm’s active fund portfolio, with access to multiple active investment vehicles.

  • Play a leading role in capital allocation, fund structuring, and performance tracking

  • Support fundraising efforts and contribute to long-term fund strategy development.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Implement processes and structures to support and mentor junior team members.

  • Work collaboratively to enhance the firm’s execution capabilities and continue to develop a high-performing investment team.


THE REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Experience: 8-12 years in fund investments, secondaries, and co-investments within Private Equity.

  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: A proactive and strategic thinker with the ability to identify and capitalise on emerging investment opportunities.

  • Analytical & Execution Skills: Strong financial modelling, deal execution, and portfolio management expertise.

  • Leadership & Culture Fit: Ability to work within a dynamic, collaborative, and intellectually curious team environment.
