THE SEARCH:
Altus Partners are retained by a leading private Capital backed financial services asset, based in Spain to appoint an Operations Director. The Operations Director will be a key hire as the company continues to rapidly scale and execute its strategic objectives, be responsible for defining, implementing, and managing efficient operational models for the technical and client-focused aspects of the organisation. This includes identifying key operational functions and driving improvements in workflow efficiency across areas such as product pricing, client onboarding, claims, and data management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in the sector, complemented by proven experience in commercial and operational strategy, enabling them to contribute to the growth and efficiency of the organisation by proactively addressing emerging challenges.
THE ROLE:
Serving as a senior business adviser to the CFO from an operational perspective, identifying and driving long-term process improvements in key technical functions.
Acting as a subject matter expert on operational challenges, providing solutions across areas such as client implementation, pricing data flows, automation of key metrics, regulatory frameworks, and outsourcing arrangements.
Understanding and managing complex client-related operational issues, particularly in contract implementation and renewals, ensuring timely escalation to leadership.
Designing and implementing optimised target operating models (TOM) for critical areas of the business.
Collaborating with key business functions, including client contract implementation, pricing, financial operations, and regulatory compliance, to address operational inefficiencies.
Identifying and resolving key technical and client challenges, ensuring appropriate escalation and resolution at the executive level.
Over time, leading the development of a small central operations team to support the organisation’s technical operations function.
THE REQUIREMENTS:
Extensive Industry Experience: Proven track record in technical operations within the financial services or insurance sector, with deep knowledge of operational workflows, client implementation, and regulatory frameworks.
Operational and Process Improvement Expertise: Demonstrated ability to design and implement target operating models (TOM), streamline processes, and drive efficiency in complex technical functions.
Strong Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to assess and resolve operational challenges, particularly in client implementation, pricing data flows, claims processing, and regulatory compliance.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership: Experience working with senior leadership teams, cross-functional departments, and external partners, with the ability to influence decision-making and drive collaboration.
