THE SEARCH:
The Head of Data will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the data vision. The role will initially focus on optimising the data infrastructure, ensuring robust governance, and creating a data-first culture. There will also be an opportunity to integrate advanced data science, ML, and AI solutions into the business. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and hands-on Head of Data to lead a lean function, with autonomy to shape its future and define and own the data and AI strategy.
THE ROLE:
Data Infrastructure & Management
Oversee and optimise the DWH architecture - ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of two data analysts and a data architect
Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance through strong governance practices
Oversee and optimise data visualisation and reporting tools
Democratise data and enable the business to make data-driven decisions
Strategic Leadership
Define and implement a data and AI/ML strategy
Analyse the business needs and recommend data-driven strategies to enhance internal operations and decision-making
Assess and recommend AI/ML products and technologies that align with business goals
Stakeholder Engagement
Act as an advisor to senior stakeholders, communicating complex data concepts in a clear and compelling way
Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities where data and AI can drive value
Build a strong partnership between the data function and other business units to ensure alignment with strategic goals
Value Creation
Identify opportunities to maximise the commercial value of data
Develop use cases for AI and ML applications to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making
THE REQUIREMENTS:
Strong technical foundation and experience in a data leadership role
Expertise in data warehousing, data architecture, and data governance
Strong knowledge of PowerBI and data visualisation best practice
Experience in delivering data strategies and driving value through data
Familiarity with AI, ML, and data science applications, and the ability to assess their strategic relevance
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence leadership
Commercially savvy with a strong understanding of how to align data initiatives with business objectives
Hands-on and willing to roll sleeves up
A strategic and collaborative leader who can inspire and develop a high-performing team
Ambitious and keen to take the next step to advance a career in private equity
Experience in the private equity sector is highly desirable
