Altus Partners is delighted to be partnering with a highly reputed pan-European private equity fund that is seeking a Senior Investment Manager to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will drive the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of mid-market investments across diverse sectors—including Tech, Consumer, Healthcare, Industrials, and Services. Your responsibilities will encompass structuring deals, guiding transactions, and supporting portfolio companies through strategic and operational initiatives. You will also work closely with legal and financial advisers to ensure each transaction is executed efficiently and effectively.

THE ROLE:

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify Investment Opportunities: Conduct comprehensive market research, networking, and outreach to pinpoint promising mid-market investment opportunities with enterprise values between €50m and €500m.

  • Evaluate & Structure Deals:

    • Analyse potential investments using robust financial modelling and due diligence.

    • Collaborate with legal and financial advisers to negotiate and structure transactions that align with strategic objectives.

  • Support Portfolio Companies: Provide strategic and operational guidance to help portfolio companies achieve growth targets and maximise value.

  • Board Preparation & Communication: Prepare materials and insights for board and Investment Committee meetings, actively participating in discussions and strategic decision-making processes.

  • Market & Industry Research: Continuously monitor market trends, industry dynamics, and competitive landscapes to inform investment strategies and identify new opportunities.

Skills and responsibilities:
  • Analytical Prowess: Proven ability to build, interpret, and utilise complex financial models to evaluate investment opportunities.

  • Deal Execution Expertise: Extensive experience with deal processes, including negotiating and structuring a variety of investment transactions.

  • Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build rapport quickly and work collaboratively with diverse teams and external advisers.

THE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Academic Background: Relevant academic qualifications in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, commensurate with the responsibilities of this role.

  • Professional Background: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mid-market investing for a well-established fund, with at least two completed deals.
