Altus Partners are delighted to be mandated by a significant large-cap, high performing private-equity asset within financial services in the search for a global number 2 in finance. The Group Finance Director mandate will spearhead FP&A and Group Strategy with a broad remit of commercial responsibility for the executives, reporting directly to the Group CFO in a business that generates multi billion pounds of revenue across the world.
Due to continued organic growth, M&A, capital markets, and private equity investment, the Group CFO is seeking a senior finance candidate from a business of considerable size and scale, along with dynamic FP&A and corporate finance skills to play a key role in Group Finance and CFO succession planning.
Ideal candidates will have a considerable breadth of experience in corporate finance, M&A, and financial services, offering a clear capability and ambition to work in a demanding role for private equity investors.
THE ROLE:
Drive and manage company financial performance, growth initiatives, business partnering, M&A, analysis, budgeting and forecasting
Present investment cases and financial impact analysis to the CFO, CEO, and PE investors
Supporting big capital allocation cases, M&A onboarding and larger acquisitions, including liaising effectively with various internal and external advisors
To lead and foster a strong commercial culture across the Group and develop a “best in class” finance function
Play a key role directing strategic finance and company leadership teams; effective engagement and influence across the business
Setting company standards and divisional reporting; driving the required behaviours for budgets and business plans that will deliver as the company expands and grows into new markets
Along with CFO, Group Finance and investors, ultimately help to prepare the business for a transaction and add value through the process, including effective liaison with external parties
THE REQUIREMENTS:
Proven track record as a Partner/Finance Director/CFO in a global business with at least 10,000 + employees
Track record of driving growth and value creation as a key senior leadership team member – Ideally within a Private Equity or highly acquisitive setting
Previous experience in FP&A or M&A in an international business generating revenue across multiple geographies, ideally incorporating the US and Europe
Chartered Accountant / ACA equivalent
Confidently understand equity calculations, debt and capital markets
Experience working a top professional services firm as part of accounting qualification, ideally Transaction Services, M&A or corporate finance
Must be able to demonstrate excellent commercial judgment and an ability to communicate and influence effectively at all levels, both inside and outside the group
Deeply analytical, proactive and forward thinking, executing effectively and at pace
