Altus Partners are excited to partner with a global, private equity-backed Testing/Life Sciences business, on a Group Head of M&A search, to implement & drive their ambitious inorganic growth strategy. As the company looks to quickly scale up, the Group Head of M&A will work closely with the C-suite and Investors to define the long term strategic plan. The business are headquartered in the UK, however this is a remote opportunity with the successful candidate being based anywhere in Europe. This is a hands-on, dynamic role, that requires the end-to-end execution of M&A deals, suited to individuals with extensive transaction experience within a Corporate/PE backed asset.


The role will come with market leading compensation, bonus and equity.

THE ROLE:
  • The Group Head of M&A, as a member of the leadership team, will be setting & leading the group’s inorganic growth agenda, and executing on strategic acquisitions globally.

  • This role offer a large degree of autonomy, working closely with the rest of the management team (C-suite, board members, investors…).

  • Executing on the transactions end-to-end, from sourcing the targets through the full execution, to negotiations and closing, owning the full scope of the process.

  • Creating business plans and devising group strategy alongside the C-suite and investment committee, such as mapping the acquisition landscape, inorganic growth plans, integration plans and transformational deals.

  • Working closely with the management teams to find new leads & source new targets across the region through thorough mapping, company valuations and due diligences.

  • Review, analyse and assess acquisition opportunities, including producing and reviewing financial models and acquisition rationale

  • Ensure pre-acquisition integration (and separation) planning is thorough and effective

  • Drive the overall M&A deal pipeline, including outreach to and sourcing of new opportunities, JV’s etc.

  • Work closely with C-suite & key stakeholders on commercial projects and PE activity

THE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in M&A

  • Experience/Knowledge of the Life Sciences/Testing space is required.

  • Experience working with private equity desired

  • Experience working in a leading investment bank or top-tier consultancy preferred

  • Strategic, analytical and commercial thinker, as well as resourceful problem solver.

  • Flexible in a continuously changing, growing environment

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills

  • Ability to travel is required.
